Angels Call Jays On Halladay

Quote:
The Angels, who have been looking to add pitching for a majority of the season, have inquired about Roy Halladay.

"Tony has talked to a lot of clubs, and he's talked to Toronto," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said, referring to general manager Tony Reagins. "Obviously, [Halladay] is a name that piques the interest of everyone in baseball."

Halladay is 10-2 with a 2.79 earned-run average and 98 strikeouts in 116 innings.

"If they're shopping Roy Halladay, everybody and their momma is going to be after him," Angels center fielder Torii Hunter said. "He's the guy I'd build a rotation around.

"He's smart. He hits his spots. He goes deep into games. He's a bulldog. When the pressure is on, he's at his best. He's everything you'd want in a starting pitcher."

Man... I sure hope we get him! But who would we have to give up? Prospects??

What are the odds of Halladay landing in Anaheim?

Who knows, but ESPN’s Buster Olney took this stab:

Phillies 5:2

Dodgers 8:1

Angels 8:1

Brewers 12:1

Red Sox 15:1

Rockies 20:1

Rangers 20:1

Yankees 20:1

Cardinals 50:1

Mets 100:1

Curious how Olney created those odds. I personally don't think he is going anywhere, unless the Jays get a more than gracious offer.

Yeah I dont either AAL.

but it'd be nice to have him considering how our staff seems to be struggling. Ervin Santana, unfortunately, is looking like he's gonna have another bad year... Saunders is struggling, Lackey is struggling.... Jered Weaver is looking like he's our ace, but we need more than just 1 great pitcher. Halladay would be awesome for us.

Lets hope a deal does come up
